There are many ways you can help MVAS
The shelter really needs volunteers to help feed, clean and walk animals. You can brush and love dogs and cats. You can help with various jobs such as gardening, painting, answering the phone, greeting people and general maintenance. You can volunteer for as little as 1 hour or as many as 8 weeks. Do it for yourself and for the animals. Weekends are a great time for teenagers to volunteer...it looks good on your college application!

Dog and cat supplies
This is list of suggested items we need:
- Purina dog or cat chow
- Clay cat litter
- Canned food cats, kittens, dogs and puppies
- Biscuits and treats
- Dog and puppy rawhide chews
- Toys for cats, kittens, dogs and puppies
- Scratching posts and condos for cats
General and office supplies
This is list of suggested items we need:
- Paper towels, scrubbers, sponges, toilet paper, Clorox bleach, window cleaner, toilet cleaner
- Copy paper
- Large plastic tubs with lids
- Liquid laundry detergent
- Copy paper, pens, thumbtacks, etc.
- Brooms, mops, baggies
- Paper plates, plastic ware

Memorial/Tribute form
It costs Mission Valley Animal Shelter an average of $125 per animal that are housed in our facility. As the number of animals increases, so do our expenses. You can become an “Adopt a Bill” sponsor by making a tax deductible donation for as little as 1 month or as great as annual plans, whatever fits your budget. These expenses directly relate to the care and comfort of our animals. Expenses such as advertising and postage assist our efforts to adopt out as many dogs and cats as possible.
